The Eastwood StoryTime program was created by a retired teacher with a big heart. Children ages 4-10 who live in a low-income housing complex gather twice a month after school to enjoy stories, poems, songs, and movement activities. RRSC has a year’s worth of lesson plans to share with others who want to serve disadvantaged children in this way. As RRSC connects with children through StoryTimes, we continually work to build better understanding and relationships with their families. Volunteers assist FLCE Judy Dahlke by providing one on one reading time with children at the beginning of the program. Snacks are provided for the children and group storytime occurs before the program finishes with a craft that ties back to that week's theme.
