Story Pals Site Facilitator Position
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Story Pals Site Facilitator will facilitate sessions of Story Pals which fosters literacy skill development for preschool children and families. The site facilitator will prepare materials, support volunteers, and ensure a safe and positive experience for participants.
Story Pals uses Dialogic Reading strategies to support children's language and literacy development. Training will be provided in Dialogic Reading, Story Pals protocols, and RRSC program expectations.
This position reports to the Youth Literacy Programs Manager.

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
Raising Readers in Story County (RRSC) is a grassroots nonprofit serving children and families in Story County with the mission to support the language and literacy development of young children by providing books, caregiver guidance, and early childhood programs. RRSC provides books, educational programs, caregiver support, and early childhood programs through community partnerships.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Facilitate Story Pals sessions

Ensure fidelity of the Story Pals program through the use of Dialogic Reading and Story Pals protocols

Observe, support, and mentor volunteers to promote best practices and effective program delivery

Support and communicate with Story Pals volunteers

Prepare books, activities, and materials for each session

Assist volunteers with child supervision as needed

Communicate with parents and caregivers via email or phone

Maintain attendance and required program records

Set up and clean up the program location

Ensure program materials are returned to RRSC

Ensure children remain supervised and safety procedures are followed as designated for location

Communicate with the Youth Literacy Programs Manager as needed

Complete required program documentation
