Raising Readers in Story County coordinates a FREE summer tutoring program to promote literacy skills to prevent the "summer slide". Students must have completed kindergarten through 3rd grade. Each child will be paired with a trained volunteer tutor. Students will meet virtually for personalized reading sessions to help maintain summer literacy skills. These 45 minute supervised Zoom sessions are held at convenient times. Children in the program receive a gift book at the end of the program. This program is supported by Ames High grad and current Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes.
