Harrison Barnes Reading Academy-Summer Reading Buddies
Raising Readers in Story County coordinates a FREE 6-week summer tutoring program to promote literacy skills for children who need a little extra help over the summer. Students must have completed kindergarten through 3rd grade. Each child will be paired with a trained volunteer tutor. They will meet twice per week for personalized reading sessions to help maintain summer literacy skills. These 45 minutes sessions are held at convenient, supervised sites. Children in the program receive a free Harrison Barnes Reading Academy t-shirt, a lending library book bag, and a gift book at the end of the program. This program is supported by Ames High grad and current Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes
